On June 27, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Headrest held its annual meeting open to all community members at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. The topic for the evening was “Changes and Hope in the Landscape Recovery”
Dwight E. Davis (keynote speaker for the evening), former basketball player and Chair of the NH Workforce Council, talked about his own personal struggles with depression and drug and alcohol abuse. These struggles started after he had a career-ending knee injury. By having people around him who cared he was able to change and get the help he needed. He now spends much of his time working with at-risk youth and helping them overcome odds.
Headrest also honored Tina Nadeau, Chief Justice of NH Superior Court, with its annual community service award. Tina works to find positive outcomes for those incarcerated due to mental health and substance use disorder by providing an alternative to incarceration.
