In July, Headrest lost its executive director, Cameron Ford, to an untimely death. Cameron’s vision, hard work, and boundless enthusiasm helped people start on the path to healing, recovery, and empowerment. Inspired by his memory, Headrest continues to support individuals affected by substance use disorders, or are in crisis, and their families, friends, and neighbors, by providing effective programs that support prevention and long-term recovery.
Imagine how many people are impacted by a person’s substance use. Consider the effect on the family. Each family and each family member are uniquely affected by the individual using substances. This may include having unmet developmental needs, economic hardship, legal problems, emotional distress, and abusive behavior. For children there is also an increased risk of developing a substance use disorder.
For 51 years, Headrest has given tens of thousands of people the chance to change their lives; and has shepherded them from hardship, to hope and empowerment. Headrest values each life saved, each crisis averted, and personal path reset. Would you help us continue to give people the chance to change their lives? Community support is essential. In the spirit of this holiday season, we reach out asking for a one-time or monthly financial gift. These donations will ensure that Headrest can continue to help people over the next year.
Thank you for your consideration. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season!
